I will not allow the strategies or schemes (Ephesians 6:11), or the roaring (1 Peter 5:8) of Satan or the misconceptions or attitudes of some Christians or the failure by some Christians to apply Matthew 5:23-26 or those Christians who are willing to be used as Satan's puppeteer to cause dissension or division and other sins like these (Galatians 5:20, 21) to be a distraction to prevent me from focusing on my kingdom work in the name of Jesus.

For I gave my reputation to the Father more than a year ago when I agreed to take this journey with Him. Therefore, what Satan decides to plant in the minds of some, or what a person, who are operating in their flesh and not in the Spirit decides to believe because of their own shortcomings or emotional struggles, I am sorry; I cannot control and will not give attention to. But the door is always open for clarity if one wants to do the right thing by means of the Holy Spirit and in the name of Jesus. Otherwise, your misconception and misinterpretation are your sins and not mine.

Two Ex-Lesbians Having a Conversation About Men

I am only sharing this conversation because God placed it on my heart to do so. May be He is trying to help someone(s) through this God driven conversation between two ex-lesbians.

Deaidre: It gets quite alone in this big house. But it helped me to make a huge decision about marriage.  By the way, God helped me to understand why He sent “Brother A” my way as an option. At the time, God was not making sense to me. Why this brother? Really? But now it makes sense, but I told God thanks, but no thanks. =) Any rate, in the name of Jesus, y’all have a safe trip.

Felicia: Thanks… and why did He send “Brother A” your way?

Deaidre: He helped me to appreciate that when He places a certain brother in our hearts, “this is your husband”, often, we as women expect too much – Mr. Everything. The “Wow Factor”. We expect God to send us Mr. Everything wrapped up perfectly – we have an everything I want in a man mentality, when actually the brother has weaknesses and imperfections that we often pick up on right a way. Then we lock in those areas, which usually runs us off. He is not this and that and lacks A, B, and C. Not realizing that there is something in you or me that God knows that makes you or me a good match to help him (Gen 2:18). There is something in you or me that will help strengthen that brother’s weaknesses or make him a better and stronger man of God.  I was like “Oh. “ But then He asked me did I have the patience and the character to overlook “Brother A's” flaws? It really made me think.

Felicia: “Oh”.

Deaidre: So I told God IDK. I don’t know if I really have the character and the patience without causing “Brother A” any more hurt or emotional damage. So I told Him, the only way I could with “Brother A”, if he shows consistency, no fear about entering in a relationship and if he consistently pursue me without making me feel he is leaving hanging at times. I told God to be honest, I don’t think it’s in “Brother A” to do that with any woman at this point. Therefore, I will pass on this one. God completely understood my position. Why you just said “Oh”?

Felicia: That was deep and I never looked at it that way. We do focus on the flaws and allow those flaws to run us away. I look at my auntie who just passed. She was faithful to her husband and dedicated. He is on dialysis and lost a leg. She basically did everything for him. She loved him. True love overlooks flaws and sees the best in a person, yes acknowledging the flaws. But not allowing the flaws to drive us away.

Deaidre: Now I understand why guys say we expect too much or our standards are too high. It makes more sense now.

Felicia: If you know you won’t be able to overlook or deal with the flaws… don’t start with “Brother A”. Because he is older and has his ways and issues as we all do.

Deaidre: Yea, I’m not willing to chase no man. Or put up with a man who is debating or not sure what he wants to do. Don’t waste my time. Or that Brother that feels he needs to interact with every sister, trying to decide who is for him. That’s where I draw THE LINE. He better know what he wants and be ready to chase me until I’m tired of running.

“Brother A” is only five years older than me. Any rate, that’s why I told God, no based on the reasons I gave. I don’t think “Brother A” is emotionally ready. He is unsure of himself and he is still looking for a woman to fill mom’s shoes. I want to be someone’s wife not momma. So I decided to back off several days ago. I will only interact with him if he initiates it.

Felicia: Just be his friend w/o the expectations of him being your husband. If you see that he is indecisive.. Move on and allow God to send you a husband who knows and shows that you are who he wants.

Deaidre: You are not listening. I told God, no as far as “Brother A”. That was the main reason. He seems like an indecisive man. Maybe I am equipped to handle and nurture such a man, but I told God I don’t want to. I really don’t want to deal with a man that can’t be consistent in making decisions. Did that with my ex-husband.

Felicia: I just saw the text you sent telling me you told God no.

As I write these words, I know, there will be some who will privately and maybe publicly, criticize my message. But that is ok. For my due diligence is to God and not to man.

It breaks my heart to see some Christians showing a lack of Christ-like love to all of God’s creatures in their actions and or deeds. We either shout from the mountaintop about the sins of other Christians or unbelievers with callousness. Or, we quietly retract and look on, choosing not to lovingly interfere or intervene by showing our Christian brothers or sisters from the scriptures the error of their way.

I am learning, as God is molding me as His instrument, when to sit still and when to sound the trumpet. A trumpet is sometimes used in the Bible as a supernatural accompaniment of divine interpositions [(i.e. intervene between parties), 1 Corinthians 14:1-8; Hebrews 14:1-19].

On behalf of my Christian brothers and sisters, our broken and unjust political system, unbelievers and those who claims to be Christians, but are not living according to God’s word, I pray that God intervene on all our behalf so that this madness we are all creating will stop.

As Christians, we are called:
  1. To love all people and show all dignity and respect in the process (Matthew 28:16-20; Ephesians 4:1,2; Matthew 7:1-6; Genesis 1:27; Acts 10:34; John 3:16). And through our action of love, many can be won to or back to Christ.
  2. To be salt and light bearers to a dying world (Matthew 5:13-16).

Instead, some of us have become no different in our actions like some police officers that have callously and unjustly murdered unarmed children and adults. Yes, we are not running around with loaded pistols on our hips. But, some of us are running around with the label of Christians embroidered on our chest, our Bibles on our hip and our tongues as a weapon for the purpose of destroying and killing potential sheep.

I am pleading with the body of Christ to pray, repent and reacquaint ourselves with John 2. As Christians, we need to look closer at the significance of this first miracle that Jesus performed – turning water into wine.
  • That water, prior to turning into wine, represented the old way of doing things – the old system as Jesus’ disciple knew it, which was based on old rituals, traditions, systems, perspectives and practices.
  • When Jesus turned that water into wine, the process he used, represented changes that Jesus was implementing – ushering in a new way that would bring about a better way of living and satisfaction.

Garden of Praise, Gospel Services Inc.
Jesus was ushering in a new era, a new system, a new practice, a new way to serve the people. He was establishing that Christians were expected to serve people in a way that would improve their lives, their lot in life. Just as the water that Jesus converted to wine turned out to be the best tasting wine of all that was served, so too our words, actions and deeds (John 2:10).

As Christians, is our response to our political and social ills today in harmony with this new way of serving people as Jesus taught his disciples? Are we leaving a bitter taste in the mouths of people through our words, actions and deeds? Or, is our response a reflection of the God we serve in that we leave a taste that is as sweet as the wine Jesus converted from water at the Cana wedding in Galilee?
